While in some areas I have to agree there are others I can't, namely the ammo issue. True if your fond of an assault rifle (or any gun relies on lot's of bullets in the air to be effective) ammo can be an issue, but if you use a variety of weapons (saving your best for harder Enemy's and your weaker for weaker ones) you wont have much issue. I found the need to prioritizes very realistic and fun. It's not exactly like you can run to K-mark and buy a brick of 10mm. Even if I had a cheat for more ammo it would ruin an aspect of the game in my opinion. Besides after the first say 6 levels I found myself selling ammo I no longer needed.

you also implied the laser pistol was weak. This tells me you were either incredibly unlucky or not focusing on energy weapons or both. the laser pistol was my weapon of choice the first 5 or 6 levels and is still my main fall back. and again I have no issues against anything but bugs who seam to have a crazy resistance to energy weapons in general.

the last thing is enemy's are too hard. I will admit I have been rocked by an enemy from time to time, but usually thats solved boy one simple thing or another. targeting another area on the body, coming at them from a different angel. if I really get desperate I'll lob a grenade or set out a mine but I can count the times I have even needed to do that on one hand.

to survive fallout 3 easily all you need is a reasonable sneak skill and a general constant awareness of your surroundings.

As for the pace. Yeah even I have to admit that there are times I was a bit tired of walking around trying ot get to one thing or another.
