Review – Bakushow

Having played with Bakushow for considerably longer than Rising Star games would have ever intended of its target audience (presumably little girls under the age of about 7) I have found precious little good to say about it.
The overall graphics and animations are cheesy, and at times, slightly creepy, and the (although I use the word advisedly) 'gameplay' to be repetitive and boring, relying entireley upon the players' imaginations in order to get any kind of enjoyment out of it.
'Gameplay' consists of the leader (the ds console with the cartridge) initially setting the first question (which, again, relies entirely upon the players, as they are expected to draw the question on the DS console's touch screen, which is then posed to the remainder of the group.) The leader determines the round length, as once he/she has answered, there is a 30 second allowance for the rest of the group. Anyone who fails to finish in the alloted time is disqualified from the round. Once answers are in, players are required to 'vote' for the best answer of the group! Surely it would be better to allow the game to pose questions, and consequently allow right and wrong answers, rather than leaving it all up to opinion?
The one redeeming factor of this game is that it only requires one game cartridge  between all players, making use of the DS' Download and Play feature.
Despite an interesting tag line; 'If you think this game is boring, it is because you are boring,' this makes a pleasant change from most DS games, which require a cartridge in each DS to really make use of multi-player functions.
However, considering the RRP of £15, Bakushow could be recommended to either those on a budget, or those looking for a cheap and cheerful game because, essentially, that is what it is.
All in all, a disappointing game, which I would steer clear of.
