Hooray! Need for Speed is back (and it looks quite good this time)!
I've always been a fan of the Need for Speed series, but the last two titles in the franchise have been somewhat disappointing. NFS Most Wanted was a massive step forward for the series, giving you something to do outside of the racing mode (being chased by police) and yet subsequent Need for Speeds got rid of the police, which was a feature everyone loved. The latest title, Need for Speed Pro Street tried something different (and wasn't exactly successful...), trying to legalise the whole aspect of the racing, giving you no world to run around in at all, a signature part of the series, and giving you only races to do. However, good news; Need for Speed Undercover promises to bring back the exhausting police chases that were so great in NFS Most Wanted, and further build on that great formula. In NFS Undercover, as the name suggests you go
"deep undercover"
, presumably as a police officer, trying to
"take down an International crime syndicate." (EA press release)
Its good to see that EA are taking notice of what people want, and the return of the super high intensity chases can surely only be a good thing. The game will feature "some of the hottest licensed cars such as the Audi R8, BMW M6 and Lexus IS-F".
Need for Speed Undercover features lots of stuff at 180mph
We'll keep you updated on any Undercover updates, and have a review of the game when we can get out hands on it. Undercover is out in America on November 18th and over here in Europe on November 21st. As expected, Undercover will be on just about every console - Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS, PC and there will also be a mobile version.

Looks pretty fun, but I get all Need For Speed games, even if they're not that good (see Need for Speed: Pro Street).
I've stopped getting them after NFS Carbon - they took away all the fun! NFS Undercover looks great though. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
